Doors Open Days 2025
Welcome to Doors Open Days 2025! All are invited to take part in Fife’s #DOD2025 that will be taking place across our neck o’ the woods over the weekend of the 6th & 7th of September.
Participating venues can decide to have their Doors Open Day events on either Saturday 6th, Sunday 7th – or both days. Organisations, community groups and businesses are already signing up to open their doors for what is billed as ‘Scotland’s biggest free festival’.
Get involved …
If you represent a building or group that wishes to take part, you can provide details to the organisers via their form (accessible via this link to print, complete and submit). As part of this, when sending, please ensure you include a couple of good resolution photographs suitable for publicity on their website and brochure – all being used to support and publicise the events.
This year’s theme …
Architectural Heritage: Windows to the Past, Doors to the Future
This year’s theme celebrates the rich diversity of buildings that surround us, exploring buildings and infrastructure of all styles and scales. From a heritage perspective, we can appreciate the design, scale, form, and decorative beauty, not only in the grand buildings and monuments of cities, but also in the streets and houses in which we work and live.
Every village, town, and city has its own architectural heritage, reflecting local history, culture, and economies. You can find out more information about the shared theme on the Doors Open Days website.
The Scottish Civic Trust, based at the Tobacco Merchants House, Glasgow, is the National Co-ordinating body for DOD and they will promote the event across the country via their website, and provide administrative support to area co-ordinators across Scotland.
A big thank you …
It is acknowledged that Doors Open Day would not be possible without the effort and commitment of Fife’s DOD volunteers and this is very much appreciated.
